Having fought in various political front lines and be able to know what politics is all about, especially when a leader is out to clean up the fraudulent practices that many corrupt politicians collaborated and conspired to had looted the state for several years.

Gov. Bello’s perusal of the allocations to kogi state showed that it was grossly inadequate. These prompted a meeting of stakeholders sometimes ,where the predicament was presented and the majority cutting across the 329 wards in the state passed a vote of confidence for the appointment of caretaker committee instead of wasting the meargre resources meant to pay local govt workers, for conduct of elections.

Two major reasons have prevented the conduct of local govt election in the state , the funds which was appropriated for is grossly and manifestly inadequate, and the monthly allocation for councils accruing to the state is very meagre.

The state government needs to address this deficiency in the budget, Its base on this reason that is too Germaine to the survival of kogi state,a situation where the past administration could not pay beyond 20 percent to local govt workers but with the present intervention of the state govt through audit, over 25 percent salaries are been paid to workers and would eventually shoot up to full payment at the end.

The Governor through the able leadership of his Special Adviser on Ministry of Local Government,Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere and the Chairman of Forum of Administrators,Alhaji Taufiq Isa remains focused and determined to place the Councils among the best in the country, and will not want to allow any looting of local govt funds again, until the councils stabilized.

As we all know that, the constitution does not give cognizance to criminality too and it is on record that most councils were defrauded, looted and the treasury bastardized by the previous administrations,of which the present governor,Alh. Yahaya Bello,is presently correcting the monumental frauds perpetrated before his coming.
