The Maigari of Lokoja,Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir,Markarfi lll, has congratulated Muslims across kogi state and the country on this year’s Eid-El-FITR celebration.
According to the monarch, Sallah should be seen as a period of sober reflection as individuals and as a nation.
In a goodwill message,the reknown monarch said”we are grateful to Almighty Allah who has made it possible for us to witness this year’s Eid-el-Fitr. On behalf of the good people of Lokoja,the commercial centre of Nigeria and historic city of the Europeans, I extend my warmest greetings to the muslim ummah on this year’s sallah celebration. It is a period of rededication to the teaching and lessons of the HolyQuran. We should embrace the spirit of love, togetherness and unity beyond the festive season. I admonish kogites to live a positive life that is committed to the service of God and humanity. May we continue to witness more celebrations in our lives. Barka de Sallah”.
“For the sake of nation building, parents and guardians must live by example by upholding good moral values and ethics in their endeavours”, Maigari of Lokoja added.
The paramount ruler while urging Nigerians to pray for the success of the Buhari-led federal government, called on the political class to see leadership as an opportunity to serve the people and not for the accumulation of wealth, adding that the people’s welfare must be paramount in the policy thrust of government.
The monarch wished Muslims a fulfilling and hitch free celebration.
