The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Lokoja Local Government Area, kogi State is set to commence campaigns for the 2024 local government elections.

The Chairmanhip Candidate Of Lokoja local government, Hon. Adams Danfulani Bakasso aka Quincy who spoke on Friday in Lokoja said the Flag off and campaigns will commence immediately at Kewon Hotel, Lokoja.

He expressed confidence in SDP’s victory in the forthcoming council polls in Kogi noting that the party has strategize to win the election.

He also expressed confidence that the governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo earlier, has promised that he would maintain his stand on granting a level playing field to all parties.

He claimed that “Kogi is APC but many people so much believed in SDP, said that he is a quality and capable candidate who is ready to win election and also has the capacity to bring in dividends of democracy.

He said, “Tommorrow, we will formally flag off local government election campaign of the Social Democratic Party, SDP at Kewon Hotel, Lokoja.

“I’m sure you’ve not been satisfied with the performance of the local governments in Lokoja. Local government area which has capacity under the law to tar roads, to do culverts, to manage local education authority, to repair and build primary schools, to embark on agriculture, produce food, to work and take part on land matters in local government, issuing customary rental capacity. But that has not happened in Kogi State.”
