2023 Kogi Governorship election : Freest, Most Credible And Fairest – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  has said the 2023 Governorship election conducted on the November, 11 2023 is the freest and fairest so far.

According to Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Gabriel Longpet and his boss, Federal Commissioner in charge of Kwara, Kogi and Nassarawa, Alhaji Sanni Mohammed Adam respectively, during the presentation of certificate of return on Friday to the Governor-elect, Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate, Joel Oyibo said the INEC has given the 2023 Governorship election in kogi its best shot by training and retraining of election officials, using the BVAS successfully. Ensuring perfect arrangements for adequate security, which can be compare to any elections anywhere in the world, INEC couldn’t have done a perfect job more that what happened in kogi state.

In their separate words, “It is very clear that this is comparatively the freest and fairest election conducted in kogi state. It is pointless crying foul where there is none.

“We call on men and women of good conscience to support the efforts of INEC to bequeath a good electoral legacy in the country.

INEC officially pronounced that considering the perfect arrangements put in place by the commission that made the election be successful, APC candidate and Governor-elect, Usman Ododo and his running mate, Joel Oyibo should be presented the certificate of return, having met the constitutional requirements.

“It is obvious that the INEC officials made enormous sacrifices under the current economic and national security challenges to hold successful Governorship election in the three states.

Earlier, the police DIG, Sanni Abuh has said it had tasked itself to work to preserve peace in kogi state and ensure INEC deliver on its mandate without any hindrance.

A notable Politician and chairman of former legislators in kogi state, Mallam Alhassan Adakeke noted that the people of the state rejects any deliberate ploy to cause crisis in the name of unsubstantiated allegations of rigging.

“We urge the politicians to be careful about acting the script of candidates who have lost the just-concluded elections and are trying to engineer thuggery, killings and arson. We all have a duty as kogians to be patriotic enough to speak the truth and stand by peace, unity and stability,he said.
