2023 Workers’ Day: Gov. Yahaya Bello reiterates commitment to workers’ welfare

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of workers, and vowed to continue to make it top priority.
The Secretary to kogi state Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade Arike who represented the governor at the venue, Muhammadu Buhari Civic centre, Lokoja said the Governor congratulated all workers on the occasion of 2021 Workers’ Day Celebration.
“Undoubtedly, governor Yahaya Bello in the last seven years has displayed total commitment to the welfare of our workers. We believe the workforce is the engine room of governance.
“We have placed priorty on regular payment of Salaries and pay attention to the welfare of civil servants in the state”.
“We shall continue to pursue excellence and provide a good working environment, so that the workforce will continue to function effectively,” he said.
Bello commended workers, particularly the labour leaders, for the robust relationship and understanding shown to his administration.
He assured them that workers’ welfare would continue to be his administration’s priority. He, however, called for understanding.
The governor therefore, assured workers in the state that matters that had affected their rights and welfare would be top priority.
Earlier, the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Amari Gabriel commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the cash backing of workers’ promotion and prompt payment of Salaries in the state,” kogi workers welcomed the implementation of the National minimum wage in kogi state in 2022 with much excitement, but other outstanding allowances are calling for government’s urgent implementation, he said.
Comrade Amari also aplauded the governor’s efforts in the area of Insecurity but said there are still security infractions in the state, “we however commended the governor and his security team on the feats achieved so far.
