A renowned bussineman, politician and the State Coordinator of Peoples Progressives Association, PPA in Lokoja local Government Area, Alhaji Gimba Lokoja has described the Governorship Candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Murtala Ajaka as an arrogant and Intolerant person who caused the SDP loss in the last governorship election.”
Alhaji Gimba who addressed newsmen in his residence at ungwar-Kura, Lokoja on Saturday said it was very painful that the SDP lost an election in kogi state, “I am pained, so pained that we lost election. Murtala Ajaka’s arrogance and intolerant was a major Setback to the campaign managers.
According to him, the SDP Governorship Candidate, has frequently displayed that he does not have the right temperament to govern kogi State.
“Therefore, we, members of Progressive People’s Congress, PPA in Lokoja, who joined forces with Murtala Ajaka since 3 years ago have dissociated ourselves from him, due to his display of arrogance before and after election. we would not sit back and allow a rudderless leader like Murtala Ajaka who sees himself as above every other person to molest our group after spending our resources on his campaign.
“It is to our dismay that Murtala Ajaka refused to adhere to advise from anybody, he displays arrogance and selfishness to those of us close to him, we have to spend our hard earned money and resources on the project, but this same man did not recognise and appreciate our principal role”, he stressed.
“Anybody that is not steadfast to what he should do before becoming a governor is not fit to lead. Being a leader is a big commitment. Anyone that cannot take that commitment seriously, that person must be arrogant. Murtala Ajaka is an arrogant leader”, he said.
Alhaji Gimba further said the Governorship Candidate refuses to adhere to superior advises throughout the campaign and always quarrel with anybody who try to put him right”. We expect him to have learnt practical politics from Late Prince Abubakar Audu, I believe the shoes of prince Audi is too big for Murtala Ajaka to wear”.
“He has forgotten that whoever wants an exalted position as governor must display humility, simplicity and decorum, but instead he does things in his own way without considering others opinion, saying that he has always exhibit his arrogance by disallowing supporter from having access to him, refused to read their messages or picked their calls, this actions is unbefitting of someone who want to be the Governor of a state”,he added.
In a swift reaction, the state secretary of the Social Democratic Party in kogi state, Alhaji Sonfada Idris debunked the allegations saying the party Governorship candidate, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka is full of humility and very accessible to everyone.
He said Murtala Ajaka is compassionate, caring, and considerate, especially to those who are at the grassroots.
It is now clear to us that Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo is more humane and accessible than Murtala Ajaka, saying kogi people are happy with his styles of leadership. ” We want to appreciate Gov. Ododo for his prompt payment of salaries as at when due.
Meanwhile, when our reporter asked Alhaji Gimba Lokoja and his PPA group weather they would decamp to APC, they said their Association would collectively take decision and make its position known to the public.
