AGAIN: Supreme Court Affirms Ahmed Ododo As Duelly Elected Kogi Governor
By Abubakar Suleman

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo as the democratically elected Governor of Kogi State.
The apex court’s ruling ended in a prolonged legal battle initiated by the governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka in the November 11, 2023, governorship election in the state.
The SDP candidate had appealed the verdicts of both the Appeal Court and the state governorship election petitions tribunal which upheld Ododo’s victory in the election.
In his petition to the tribunal, Ajaka asked the panel to nullify the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over widespread irregularities that compromised the integrity of the election.
However, in a unanimous decision, the five-member panel of the Supreme Court dismissed Ajaka’s appeal for lack of merit.
The panel declared Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State.
