Ankpa Agog, As Ogbo Support Groups Holds Rally, Road Walk For APC, Ododo

The people of Angwar Ogebe in Ankpa Metropolis, headquarters of Ankpa Local Government Council, have rejected the ongoing Igala political Agenda and swiftly pledged their unwavering support for the candidate of APC, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

This is just as a prominent leader of the area and APC Chieftain, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo has staged Roadshow in the area to woo supporters for APC and hedge them against being indoctrinated by Igala agenda mantra.

The people of Angwar, who consist of four autonomous communities made the rejection on Saturday during the Roadwalk and special visit/ prayer organised by Prof. Usman Ogbo, held in the main town of Angwar Ogebe.

Prof Ogbo while addressing his supporters, charged leaders to test their popularity from their polling units, wards, local Government areas and not to bother hapless electorate with their bogus Igala agenda that has no direct impact on the livelihoods of the people.

He said , he was at home to guide his people on the agenda that has brought transformation to their communities, adding that it was the advent of APC with him in key position in the administration that , the people for the first time , begun to get dividend of Democracy.

He decried the successive administrations led by Igala sons who deliberately abandoned his people, with no social and economic opportunities, saying that an agenda should be a by- product of what have been provided for the people.

He disclosed that Angwar Ogebe a mostly Muslim community was the first place that Islam birthed in Ankpa Federal Constituency, said, he once used part of the sum of money donated by one of the prominent sons of the area to fence the Akpachi which has wards off land encroachers, making the mosque a monument to behold.

He explained that as a young boy growing up in the community, he encouraged his mates and young ones to embrace Western Education even together with Islamic education, stressing that he is one of the first persons from the Communities to have a degree, master and a PHD.

He added that he held the development of the area tenaciously to his heart as every opportunity that comes his way, his community has been the highest beneficiary, affirming that his people have developed natural love for him and his political career.

He explained that while at the University of Ilorin as a worker, he facilitated through the then, Vice Chancellor professor Samsudeen Amali, who also has his root from Angwar, employment of not less that four sons and daughters , while many students seeking admission were admitted to study various courses in the university.

He added that immediately he was appointed Rector of kogi state polytechnic by Governor Yahaya Bello, he swung into action using available opportunities to facilitate employment for the people, admission for students and social and economic projects to be located in the area.

He warned those who abandoned the area for the presumed fears of witches and wizards for over forty years to now come home, after he and some of his like-minds have brought development to the area to now come with their Igala Agenda, saying the only Agenda known to him is the one that can put food and other essentials of development on the table of his people and not a selfish agenda .

He explained that the Roadwalk was organised by his people of Angwar Ogebe to demonstrate their love for him and the candidate of APC , the party that has brought so much development to that , which ranges from pipe borne water, renovation and reconstruction of schools in the area, stressing that the massive crowd that joined him in the walk is a testimony of being at home with the grassroots.

He promised to continue to mobilise his people to vote enmass for Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy Joel Oyibo, insisting that his party will win landslide at the polls.

In a remark, the Onuh Ankpa, HRH Abdulmalik Umar, admonished politicians to play the game by the rules, as in all competitions only a team wins the coveted trophy.

He said politics is for development, hence, it does not need violence to achieve the aim as every contestant is ultimately attempting to bring development to the people.

He warned those who would want to use the forthcoming election to cause violence to desist as the ancestors are at work to reward them with their evil machinations.

The Royal father used the occasion to call on government to evenly distribute palliative materials to the poorest of the poor to mitigate the harsh reality of the subsidy removal.

Also speaking, the Chairman Ankpa Elders Advisory Council and a former Councillor from Angwar Ogebe, Alhaji Tijani Abdul Shadow commended Ogbo for his unalloyed love for the area as demonstrated by massive employment for the people at the polytechnic and elsewhere and urge him to continue with the good works.

He assured him that the people of the area are solidly behind his candidate as a win for APC is ultimately a higher position for him and more development for the area.

Highlights of the event was the inauguration of Dr.Ogbo Support Group for Ododo/Joel ,2023 and official commissioning of campaign offices in the area.

Those in attendance in the walk include, former Deputy Speakers in the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kizito Makolo and Rabiu Ishaka, Provost College of Education Ankpa, Prof. Mohammed Kabir, GM , State water Board and host of others.
