APC Members Divided Over Imposition Of Councellorship Candidate In Lokoja Ward ‘B’

The All Progressives Congress, APC members from ward B in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State have unanimously rejected the imposition of Councilloship candidate by the present Member of the House of Assembly, representing Lokoja one constituency.
According to one of the political leader of the ruling party in the ward, said the Assembly member refused to adhere to the rules and regulation of the party, making serious move to impose a the present supervisory councillor as the next councillor in ward B, instead of him allowing the people’s choice prevailed.
In a statement issued by one of the stakeholder, mr. Sani Yakubu said the Assembly member did not consult with anybody, and not make any consideration of their interests and did not give them sense of belonging in the party.
Yakubu further said: “What the Assembly member intended doing is an autocratic imposition which has no place in modern democracy as it poses serious danger to the development and growth of the community.
“We believe the concerned delegates should be allowed to make their choice based on the experience, competence and the qualification of each Councillorship aspirants.”
The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, KOSIEC has been fixed for October 19 for conduct of Local Government election for Chairmanship and Councillorship in the 21 LGAs of the State.
