Court Adjourns Kogi ALGON Unpaid Salaries Case

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State, has adjourned till January 22 for continued hearing, a case of unpaid salaries of workers of Association of Local Government Of Nigeria, ALGON, Kogi state chapter.

Justice O.O Oyewunmi, a Judge in NICN, adjourned the case on Tuesday during a sitting in the case between the unpaid ALGON staff, Abubakar Sule Hassan, Tijanni Shuaibu, others and kogi ALGON.

Barr. Omoniyi Sunday, counsel to all the Claimants , after calling his first and second witnesses, Abubakar Sule Hussain , a journalist and Tijanni Shuaibu , an accountant, tendered exhibits which were admitted in evidence.

The counsels to Kogi ALGON, Barr. M A Abbas did not object to the submission of the evidence.

The court had adjourned the case to January 22 for continuation of hearing and urged the counsel to the 1st defendant to ensure his client make an appearance on the next adjournment.

The Staff of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON Kogi State Chaper sued the Association for their 45 months unpaid salaries from 2019 to date

The demands of the claimants is for the defendants to pay the outstanding salaries due to the claimants from Dec, 2019 to uptill lawful termination of the claimants’ employment.
