CP Dantawaye Adopts Problem-Solving Strategies Against Kidnapping, Armed Banditary, Other Violence Crimes

The new Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Mr. Miller G Dantawaye psc, has declared that there would be no sanctuary for criminals in the state.

He spoke at a maiden press briefing at the command headquarters in Lokoja, the state capital.

The Police boss assured that the Command, under his watch, would not relent in the fight against crime and criminality, “To ensure, that fight against Kidnapping, Armed Banditry and other violent crimes in the state do not succeed, we have commenced training of our personnel to enhance their mental and operational capacity for better and efficient service delivery in the state. Participants of Course 7 in the ongoing Refresher combat operation Training Exercise graduated last week Friday”,he said.

“We have also adopted Comprehensive crime prevention by adopting patrol along the major highways, Raid of identified criminal hideouts; Black Spots and Flash Points, Conducting aggressive Stop and Search as well as massive deployment of well- trained, equipped, and motivated officers geared towards ridding Kogi State of all forms of crimes and criminality”,

CP Dantawaye further said the task of guaranteeing protection of lives and property of all citizens in this current security challenges, Nigeria Police has a critical role to play with specific regards to our internal security,

According to him, “There is no Police Agency anywhere in the World, no matter how well trained, equipped or motivated, that can solely achieve its safety mandate without support from the Public. I therefore urge all Kogites, particularly Traditional rulers,
 Religious leaders, Opinion leaders, Youth groups, Market bodies, Okada union, Tricycle union, among others, seeks for their maximum support in the fight against criminality in Kogi State. I appeal for their cooperation and understanding in the interest of Public safety”.

CP Dantawaye said the command has adopted a common problem-solving strategies embedded in the IGP’s community policing templates, which will help to improve public confidence in our service delivery, it has has provided an avenue for effective collaboration with other critical stakeholders by giving them access to share information and intelligence that will assist in crime control and management.

“I am pleased to inform you that the ongoing onslaught against Kidnapping, Armed Banditry, and other heinous crimes in Kogi State have continued to yield positive results as the command recorded successes as items as 5 AK-47 RIFLES, AMMUNITION, MAGAZINES,  AND GREEN COLORED SHARON VEHICLE were recovered by our Unit.

“Also,  Arrest of 66 SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS and 75 suspected kidnappers who have been terrorrizing innocent people in the state and many others”,

“All the items recovered so far are; Five (5) AK-47 Rifles, Two (2) AK-49 Rifle, Nine, Magazines, 344 Rounds of 62/39mm Ammunition, 62 Rounds of 5.56mm Ammunition, 2 Rounds of 7.62/59mm Ammunition, One (1) Locally made Revolver Barrel Gun, One (1) Black Pump Action Magazine, Nine and  Expended AK Ammunition”,

“ I am committed to ensuring that kogi state remains peaceful, secure, and a prosperous state. I am dedicated to strengthening the security architecture of Kogi State, ensuring that all residents can live and work in an atmosphere of peace and safety.

“ We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the IGP, “Under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, we will continue to uphold the principles of community policing, which have proven to be highly effective in maintaining peace and security”,

“A society thrives when there is trust between its institutions and its citizens, I will work assiduously to gain the trust of the good people of Kogi State.

“I therefore called on all stakeholders- traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, the media, and other law enforcement agencies to collaborate with us in this mission. Together, we can build a safer Kogi, where every citizen can sleep with their two eyes closed, knowing that they are protected by the police and other security agencies,” he said.
