Democracy Day 2024: Kogi Assembly Speaker Felicitate With Gov. Ododo, Citizens

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has felicitated with the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the citizens of the state on the occasion of 2024 Democracy Day in Nigeria.
According to the statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed stated that Rt Hon. Umar noted that the current administration in the state under Governor Ododo has recorded more progress and consolidated on the gains of the current democratic practice.
He therefore applauded the Governor for providing the state with effective leadership needed to take Kogi State forward by building on the achievements of his predecessor.
He enjoined citizens of the state not to relent in their belief in the current crop of leaders across board, adding that despite the pace of progress, the country and the state have gained a lot since the return of democracy in 1999.
The speaker tasked the current stakeholders in the system of government to continue to work hard to provide dividends of democracy to the citizens, adding that it was only through that that they could sustain the people’s confidence in them.
He also urged Nigerians and the people of Kogi State to continue to pray and provide constructive feedback that would strengthen democratic institutions for the good of the country in general and Kogi State in particular.
