Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed following a fire outbreak at the Lokoja private residence of a reknown Media practitioner and publisher/Editor of The Analystmedia Online, Tanimu Musa Nasidi.
Nigerian Trend Online newspaper was at the spot of the incident when the fire outbreak started around 8:30 pm on saturday night due to a power upsurge.
It was further learnt that other houses around ungwar Kura area of Ward D were also affected by the high voltage of electricity from Kogi state electricity Regulatory agency( former AEDC).

At the residence of Tanimu Nasidi, the fire outbreak became worse as neighbours came to the rescue of his family members but could not remove any properties from the fire after it got out of control.
The Hakimi Of Ward D, Alhaji Isah Baba Nasidi who is an eyewitness to the incident narrated how it happened, saying, “ I was sitting outside the frontage of my house close to my uncle’s residence Nasidi when I saw fire and thick smoke coming out from the building, I had to call the attention of others to quickly intervened, So we disconnected the light and start pouring water into the building. From all indications so far, we find out that the power voltage the AEDC brought was very high.
“Other neighbouring houses too were affected,but it was only their fans, wires, television and other things burnt by the power upsurge. But the fire situation in my uncle’s residence was devastating”, he said.
Millions of naira worth of properties have been destroyed. Executive chairs, upholsteries, television, Air-conditner, solar panels and batteries, other properties got burnt.
He therefore appealed to friends, well wishers and individuals in lokoja to intervene by assisting the victim, Publisher/Editor The Analystmedia Online, Tanimu Musa Nasidi who lost his valuable items to the fire outbreak.
In his own response, the victim, Tanimu Nasidi while speaking to newsmen said he was speechless when he saw his house on fire, he therefore thanked his neighbors for coming together to assist in putting off the fire, I was just watching but I couldn’t do anything.
He said he also give praises to Almighty Allah for giving his family the needed protection during the incident, according to him, I thank Allah that no life was lost, it was only my properties that were destroyed.
