Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State at the Idiel-fitr praying ground at Muhammadu Buhari Civic centre, Lokoja, urged Nigerians to pray for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima for a smooth transition.

The governor made the plea in an interview with newsmen shortly after the Eid fitr Prayer.

“We are gathered here today to pray to Almighty Allah in celebration of Eid-el-Fitri. Most importantly let’s pray for our president-elect, Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Sen Shettima for a smooth transition.

“It’s very important that we pray for our leaders, from our President, Muhammadu Buhari, to the governors, local government Chairmen and traditional rulers.

“Just like the chief Imam, Shiek Tahiru Oseni, who led us in prayer said, it’s all about unity and peace of Nigeria, our country, so we shouldn’t relent in prayers, ” he said.

Bello also prayed that the next transition in Kogi would be very smooth and peaceful.

“My message to my people is for them to keep maintaining peace for the attainment of the desired growth and development of our dear state,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to God for making it possible for him and all Muslim Ummah to be part of the Eid-el-Fitri marking the end of Ramadan Fasting and prayers.

Bello, said this year’s Eid- Prayer at the Square, noting that he will be coming back to pray at same venue as former Governor next year,he therefore urged indigenes to pray and support APC candidate, Ahmed Usman-Ododo, to succeed him so as to do more for the state.

In his words, “I urge you all to support Ododo, pray and vote for him during the Nov 11 governorship general election to emerge victorious as next governor of kogi state.

“Let’s continue to be law abiding and ensure that we play by the rules of the game and indeed by God’s grace, success shall be ours, ” he urged them.
