Federated Chapel Of Kogi NUJ Pays Courtesy Visit To NMDPRA, As Cordinator stress On the Need To Partner With Media

The members of Federated chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi state Council, ably led by its Chairman, Mr. Mike Abu have paid a courtesy visit to the State Coordinator of Nigeria Midstream And Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority
NMDPRA, in his office in Lokoja, Kogi state on, Friday 15th November 2024.
Addressing the gathering, the state Cordinator, Engr. Godwin Ogbe Orits expressed his delight in welcoming the online publishers, thanking members of the team for their visit.
He said NMDPRA is a world class Oil and Gas Regulator that regulates Nigeria’s Midstream and Downstream value chain.
According to him, “The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) is the Technical and Commercial Regulator of Midstream and Downstream Operations”.
” This office was formerly known as Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), and presently Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, and established by the regulatory inspectorate act “.
Engr. Orits said the authority will not tolerate any nefarious activities that will undermine the effort of President Bola Tinubu to ensure that petroleum products are available for Nigerians.
“He warned that filling station owners in Kogi State should desist from any act that is capable of jeopardising the effort of the Federal Government in the supply and sales of petrol.
“Any marketer that cuts corners or dispenses petrol or cooking gas in Kogi State, we will clamp down on such marketer by imposing heavy sanctions.
“You can not be sabotaging the effort of the Federal Government when you are given the liberty to sell the fuel based on what is being sold to you, therefore we will not tolerate any act of cheating in dispensing the product,” he stated.
He therefore stressed on the need to partner with online bloggers (federated chapel) in embarking on its regulatory role in the state.
Responding, the chairman of federated chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kogi state Council, Mr. Mike Abu expresses his delight for the reception given to his members. He thanked the state Cordinator for accepting to partner with online publishers, especially in tackling corruption in the field of Oil and Gas in the state.
