Kogi State chapter of New Nigerian People’s Party, (NNPP) has mandated leaders and members in kogi state to ensure they win in their various wards and local government areas, to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming local government poll.

The governorship candidate of NNPP in kogi state, Hon.Hassan Abdullahi Baiwa who address his party Executive Members at AAK Hotel, Lokoja charged them to be determined to work harder to ensure the victory of NNPP in the forthcoming governorship election in kogi state.

While giving the charge, Baiwa said working for the victory of NNPP in their various wards in the local government areas, which will hold in the next two months, will be a demonstration of “the true test of leadership in kogi state.”

According to him, ” I’m the most experienced and competent to be the next governor of kogi state, been a former Deputy Speaker and member, Federal House of Representatives”,he said.

He therefore called on the party members to ensure that they defend their votes during the forthcoming council poll, pointing out that nobody was coming to do it for them, except themselves, even as he noted that kogi people were no longer pleased with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in kogi state.

“People no longer want the All Progressives Congress (APC). If you don’t defend your ballot boxes, you will not get the correct result. Wait to ensure that nobody steals your victory,” he said.

Speaking on his court case, Hon. Baiwa said NNPP in kogi suffered severely for some months during the governorship tussle that led to a court case he filed, but said he thank God that the judgment was delivered in his favour.

Hon. Baiwa however commended the judiciary for delivering what he described as a brilliant and fair judgment in favour of good people of kogi state.

He assured leaders and members of the NNPP that he will win the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
