Gov. Bello Presents Staff Of Office To Newly-Installed Ohinoyi Of Ebiraland

Gov. Yahaya Bello of kogi state has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to newly-installed Ohinoyi of Ebiraland,
Alhaji Ahmad Tijani Muhammed Anaje.

Gov. Bello, while presenting the staff of  office on Thursday, said that the incoming administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will not relent in sustaining the peace, progress and development in the state.

Gov. Bello tasked the paramount traditional ruler to strive on uniting the people of ebiraland, pointing out that his emergence should serve as a rallying point for brotherhood.

The governor also said that  Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will continue to utilise the meagre resources in the state to spread the dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies in the state.

The Governor described the traditional institution as a veritable platform to galvanize people for togetherness and development.

He maintained that his administration has provided an enabling environment for the traditional institution in the State to strive to maintain peace and security, called on the people to join hands in building a greater Ebira kingdom.

” I am, therefore, appealing to you all and the people of this local government to shun acts of violence and continue to sustain the existing peace”.

He further stressed that all citizens of Central senatorial district at home and abroad must join hands with our new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland for the progress, unity and peace for the overall development of the district.

“I am optimistic that the incoming administration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo will build on the successes of having a traditional institution that would remain a pride in the country”.

According to him, ” You must also work together to develop and sustain the love, unity and cultural heritage of Ebiraland”.

I’m leaving the state better than we met it on assumption of office. We pride ourselves in the area of education, the best health facilities that can be compared to what is obtained in developed clime”.

” I therefore charge you, as you work in synergy with other traditional institutions in the State, in ensuring that our State is the safest for living and in doing business “.

Governor Bello urged all the Ebira people to unite and rally around the new Ohinoyi to achieve unity, safety, and security in Ebiraland.

“To those who contested to be Ohinoyi. Let me appreciate your statesmanship, maturity, and comradeship that you have displayed in the selection process, saying. There can only be one person out of the 70 who contested and who are eminently qualified”.

God has chosen Alhaji Ahmed Anaje as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. I’m optimistic that this signals a new dawn in our collective aspirations to build a greater Ebiraland and Kogi State.”

The governor urged the people to sheathe their swords and let Ebiraland develop, adding that “Ohinoyi has the experience, knowledge, and humility to help to develop Ebiraland. Let him be the symbol of unity.”

Bello advised the new Ohinoyi to bring everybody together, telling him that “you don’t belong to anybody, you don’t belong to any clan. You belong to Islam, Christianity, our culture and tradition, and everybody.”

The governor further advised the new Ohinoyi to work with the Chairman, Kogi State Council of Chiefs and Atta Igala, and other rulers in Kogi and Nigeria to bring peace and development to Ebiraland.

“I wish to state that the incoming administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will not relent in sustaining the peace, progress and development of our Ebiraland”.

In his acceptance speech, the new Ohinoyi, HRM, Ahmed Anaje urged for unity among all Ebira people, as he accepted the advise of the governor, saying he will work hand in hand with everybody.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Bello for his commitment to developing the state, just as he also commended the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his determination to revive Ajaokuta Steel Company.

He pledged loyalty to both the state and Federal Government and declared to the Ebira people that he would serve them to the best of his ability.
