Hon. James Faleke absent, As APC commences Screening Of Governorship Aspirants in Abuja.
The screening Exercise of governorship aspirants from kogi state is been conducted by the committee set up by the National Working Committee, NWC, of All Progressives Congress, APC.
It was an unexpected scenario during the screening exercise, as Hon. James Faleke was conspicuously absence at the venue.
This development may have put to rest the speculations that Faleke would run for Governor in 2023 on the platform of the ruling party.
Many political pundits asked, ” Is it that Hon. James Faleke
had rejected the form procured for him by some groups? . Though, his name continued to be linked to the APC Guber ticket even as his governorship ambition in kogi state has become a subject of public discourse.
Though, many politicians are waiting to see if Hon. James Faleke is still on the list of those screened, because his group obtained nomination form on his behalf while away on foreign trip.
Those present at the venue of the screening are, the current Deputy Governor of kogi state, Chief Edward David Onoja, former Executive Director, Rural Electrification Agency, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, two-term Reps Members, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Former kogi Auditor-General, Ahmed Usman Ododo,ex-commissioner for LG, Barr. Salami Momodu O. Deedat, APC Deputy Publicity Secretary, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, ex-two term Commissioner in kogi state, Hajia Halima l. Alfa.
Also screened are,Ranking three-term Senator, Smart Adeyemi, Prince Shauibu Abubakar Audu(late Audu’s Son), Serving Kogi central Senator, Yakubu Oseni,ex-Acct. Gen. kogi state, Momoh Jibrin, Alh. Yusuf Yakubu Okala, ex-commissioner for finance, Hon. Asiru Idris, former Chief of staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu
Others on the list are, immediate past minister of Labour and Productivity Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, Abubakar Yahaya Achimugu, Reputable Contractor and Bussinessman, Alhaji Idachaba Friday and David A. Jimoh
Nigerian Trend also find out that majority of the stakeholders in kogi western senatorial district are very eager to see Faleke accept the call to run for the coveted seat.
In contrary view, Hon. Faleke is said to be positioned as chief of staff to the next president of the country.
This has generated arguments amongst supporters who either believes that to be a Governor is far better than Chief of Staff while some other beliefs that Chief of staff is far better, but Nigerian Trend gathered that those who want Faleke as Governor are far more in the majority.
