A retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Adejoh Aurelius Yussuf has confirmed a viral news report about him leaving his job as chief Security Officer at Prince Abubakar Audu University, PAAU, Anyingba, saying he did not only resign but only stepped aside from his party, APC, for a purpose.

In an interview with Nigerian Trend Online Newspaper today, Tuesday, he insisted that he remained a bonafide member of the APC, but said he has the interest of another governorship candidate in mind.

According to him, ” I am still a bonafide member of the APC. I only said I resigned because I need to speak the truth without the fear of my view being tainted by party colouration.Resigning my appointment as CSO is a message to the leadership of the party.

” Notwithstanding, I believe that the 2023 governorship election will be free and fair and I am entitled to my views”,

“But I need to emphasise that kogi state needs somebody who will say the truth at this critical period in our history.

“Again may I conclude here that the SDP Governorship candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka is very competent and the man of the season. Ajaka will win the coming election, because APC is too fractured to win an election in kogi state for now.

However, he Appeals to the people in the state to vote and support Murtala Ajaka in the coming governorship election come November 11,2023 ,” Adejoh stated.

He further said that what informed his decision to quit the job is to rally round Alhaji Murtala Ajaka whom he said, majority of his people are yearning for as next governor of the state.
