Iftar 2025: Special Adviser On Media To Kogi Governor Hosts Journalists

Hon. Ismaila Isah, the special Adviser on media to Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has hosted journalists from various media organisations in the state to the breaking of the Muslim Fast, Iftar Dinner, at the press centre of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Lokoja.

The Spokeman of the Governor says he considers media men as critical stakeholders in the development of any society, he also used the opportunity to unveiled the reports of media activities about government in the state of which he handed the copy of the reports to the present chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi state council, Alhaji Sheidu Haruna Ademu.

According to him, “Our prayer is that, just as we also pray, may God give us the opportunity to carry out our functions effectively, because we both hope for the best for the society, for peace and development of the state and the country as a whole.

He appreciated journalists practicing in the state, who through their reportage, had called the attention of government to some challenges facing people in the state, without which the government would not have known.

He prayed that the relationship between the government and journalists in the state would grow stronger for the overall benefit of the state.

He said the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo would continue to create an enabling environment for working journalists to practice their profession with ease.

In his own response, the Zone D National Vice President of the NUJ, Comrade Adeiza MomohJimoh thanked the Special Adviser for hosting all working journalists to Iftar this year.

Comrade Momojimoh uses the medium to encouraged the governor to continue on the path of ensuring that the dividend of democracy trickled down to the grassroots, while advising journalists to also project activities of government positively, while also drawing the attention of the government on any challenges seen.

He assured the special Adviser that practicing journalists in the state would always give the administration of Governor Ododo all the needed support.
