Kaduna State government hold two days capacity building for it’s employees

The Kaduna State Government organized a 2-day capacity building workshop for its employees in the State

The workshop, which took place on December 4-5, 2024, aimed to enhance the capacities of employees in various disciplines area.
The workshop, jointly puts together by the office of the principal private secretary – PPS, led by Hon. Prof. Bello Ayuba (PPS) and the Head of service, kaduna state, led by Hajia Habiba Anana Shekarau,
With the main objective to enhance capacities of participants in various disciplines and work schedules such as protocols, Administration, public affairs, and procurement for maximum productivity.
The workshop featured presentations from renowned resource persons, including professors and experts from various fields. Topics covered included public service rules, workplace ethics, financial responsibilities, and protocol etiquette.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam,. Ibrahim Musa, advised participants to imbibe the culture of reading, learning, unlearning, and relearning. The participants expressed joy and appreciation for the opportunity, describing the workshop as educative, interactive, and engaging.
The workshop is expected to improve the employees’ work performance and contribute to the overall development of the state.
The Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Prof. Bello Ayuba, who doubles as the workshop organizing committee, Chairman, in his official opening remarks, praised the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani for the historic event, first of its kind in the political annal history of Kaduna State, he charged the participants to utilize the opportunity given to them to pay attention to the workshop training details, including, drinking from the well repository experiences of the presenters drawn from different fields of endeavors as a resource persons by the programme committee for the employee capacity building .
The Head of service, Kaduna State, Hajia Habiba Anana Shekarau, delivererd her welcome address, with the first session kick started at the workshop by her, she took the participant through the : ” Public service rules and Guides to Administrative procedures.
Chief of Staff to the , Governor of Kaduna State, Alh. Sani Kila, CFR, delivers his governor,appreciation message, there after, the committee and the resource persons proceed for the group photograph.
The workshop is sessional, the Day one Wednesday, 4th Dec. 2024, Workshop session 2, with a topic : Workplace Ethics in an organization was presented by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Aliyu, University of Abuja.
Workshop session 3:The role of compromise in the workplace and how it can be guarded in an organization was presented by Prof. Mukhtar Halliru, Dept. Of Business Administration, BUK. The first interactive session was anchored by Prof. Sani Abdullahi.
Prof. Hamid Ozohu Suleiman, one of the resource persons from Dept. Of public Administration, University of Abuja, after the lunch break, presented the workshop session 4 on the : Employees Environmental Safety Practices.
The workshop day5, with a topic : Positive Social Media Habits of Employees in a workplace, was presented by, Ahmed Maiyaki, Managing Director, Kaduna state media corporation, while prof. U. D Moh’d, Dept. Of Business Administration, University of Abuja, presented Financial Responsibilities of Government officials, on workshop session 6, with the Day one, activity two interactive session anchored by professor Ozohu.
Day Two: Thursday, 5th December, 2024, had a lengthy workshop session due to carry over some of the sessions from the day one, by and large, it was fun and educative all through, as the resource persons exceeded all the participants expectations.
Engr. Sanusi Aliyu Yero, DG, Kaduna Public Procurement Authority – KADPPA, took the participants through the benefits of the kaduna public procurement law and process on workshop session 7, with much emphasis on merit.
Additionally, workshop 8, Etiquette of protocol officers, Skills for protocol officers, Best Practices for protocol officers and duties and responsibilities of protocol officers was presented by prof. Sani Abdullahi, Dept. Of Business Administration, A. B.U, Zaria. Activity three, of Day two interactive session was anchored by Assoc. Prof. Mathew Ogwuche.
Essentials of Report writing, language Editing and proof Reading, presentation skills and Public speaking, on workshop 9 was presented by Associate prof. Mathew Ogwuche, National Open university of Nigeria, (NOUN), Abuja. Participant was spellbounds on workshop 10, Managing the New Media For Image Making and Public Awareness Campaign, as presented by Dr. Habib Yakoob, Ag, Director, information and University Relations, University of Abuja.
Briefly workshop session 11, with the topic: Employees inappropriate workplace Relationships was presented by Fabian Okoye, Special Adviser, Research, Documentation and strategy.
Dr. Bello Lawal, visiting scholar, Department of Business Administration, Nile University, Abuja, did justice to the workshop session 12, communication in an organization. While hoping the capacity building will drastically improve and rebirth a new worker in the government house, Dr. Ojobi mark onum, Dept. Business Administration, University of Abuja, took participants through the essential information of the workshop last session on a topic : Building a team and positive reputation in a diverse workplace, the workshop closed with the presentation of certificates.
The participants expressed unreserved joy for the opportunity given to them to be part of this epoch making history of workplace in- depth knowledge, which they described as educative, interactive and engaging, looking ahead, the participants said :” they’re now better re-energized in their new way of working, as the expected outcomes of the workshop are achieved , which is to ensure that the capacities of employees are enhanced through the various programs as enunciated in objectives.
