Kogi Assembly Speaker Attends Gov. Ododo’s Commissioning Of 105 Security Vehicles For Community Policing

The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, RT Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has attended the commissioning of operational vehicles for community policing by the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The commissioning took place on Friday in Lokoja, the state capital.
According to the statement issued by the chief press secretary to the Speaker,Kogi state House of Assembly, Yabagi Mohamed stated that the speaker described the event as epoch-making as it underscores the seriousness with which the current administration takes security of lives and property in the state.
He further said like the immediate past administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, Governor Ododo is also sending fears
down the spines of criminals, stressing that unlike when criminals thought the end of GYB administration means new opportunity to commence their businesses, the current Governor is not ready to allow any form of security threats in the state.
The speaker stated that the state legislature is ready to partner the executive to bring peace and security to all parts of the state by ensuring it gives the Governor legislative backing for stronger security for the citizens.
He noted that the measure has put in place measures for the full take-off of community policing and promised that when the policy about community policing comes into force, they would give the people of the state accelerated support to domesticate it.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, members of the state House of Assembly, Chairmen of Transition Committees for Local Government Areas in the State, members of the State Executive Council, labour leaders and others groups in the State.
