Kogi Guber 2023 : SDP Campaign Council Accuses APC Of Brutality, Attempted Assassination, Murder Of Woman In Koton-karfe

The Campaign Council of Social Democratic party, SDP, has accused the ruling party of been behind the killing of the woman who was killed after invading SDP rally in Koton-karfe.

The State Leader of the SDP, Alhaji Hassan Yakubu Enape accused the ruling party on Monday, said the leadership of APC masterminded the killing of the late woman and those supporters injured.

” They allegedly attacked the supporters of Alhaji Murtala Ajaka at the venue of its rally, shooting sporadically on people at the venue in Koton-karfe using pump actions and Dane guns on innocent persons”.

The State Leader of SDP further said before the commencement of the rally held in Koton-karfe, a letter of permission to hold political rally was written and submitted to the kogi state police command and it was well acknowledged.

But, said the SDP campaign council were surprised when a statement from the commissioner of police denied not aware of SDP rally held in Koton-karfe.

” Where was the police commissioner when our party state secretariat was vandalized and burnt, he asked”.
Alhaji Enape however noted that the party, SDP can longer have confidence in the police boss.

According to him, ” APC thugs who invaded our rally were suspected to have masterminded the killing of the woman in koton-karfe, contrary to the statement issued by the ruling party and kogi state police command”, he stressed.

According to him, “Sequel to the panic by the ruling party of the popularity of Murtala Ajaka and the SDP, they have recently adopted violence and attacks on the supporters of SDP”. In the last few weeks now, this unfortunate attacks has claimed the lives of over Thirty (30) persons, injured some our supporters and burnt some houses in kogi East”.

” After reporting all the unfortunate incidences to the police, they are busy giving backing to the APC thugs, we expected that police should have arrested the perpetrators suspected to have masterminded the unbearable tragedy”.

The SDP state leader further noted that there was a court order restraining police from arresting, intimidating and harassing Murtala Yakubu Ajaka saying that the order is still substisting.

In his own response, The Director of Security of the SDP campaign council, Brig. General Benjamin Ipinyomi(rtd) stated that they have intensified efforts in information and intelligence gathering and they found out that the attack came when himself and his principal, Murtala Ajaka alerted from the vehicle, saying the APC thugs invaded the SDP rally, shot sporadically and unleashed terror on their supporters.

He further said ” the podium was pull down, canopies and chairs destroyed by the APC hoodlums, surprisingly, same youths numbering 15 also invaded the party secretariat of SDP and started pasting stickers to cover the pictures of our principal”.

Brig. General Ipinyomi however noted that the intelligence gathering also shows that there reasons for causing violence was aimed at scaring away voters on election days to create voters apathy in the forthcoming governorship election.

The Director of communications of SDP campaign council, Faruk Adejoh said the brewing attacks in kogi state have led to burning of houses were been perpetrated by APC thugs, who listed names of SDP supporters for attack.

” The persistent killing and destruction of properties in kogi East are been done everyday. Those involved were strongly suspected to act as mercenaries to their pay masters in APC, to champion the annihilation of our people”.

“We wish to remind you of the growing numbers of internally displaced persons occasioned by these attacks which currently is above 30 person’s and it has adverse effects on our supporters”.

Adejoh therefore called on the security agencies as well as inspector General of Police to do a most diligent job in fishing out those behind these worrisome and recurrent attacks on our harmless supporters, saying these culprits and suspects that are known in the society, describing the unfortunate attacks as politics of bitterness taken too far.

He further said he cannot understand what would warrant such a barbaric act of violence from APC, he said.

Hon. Adejoh however called on SDP stakeholders and members of the party, especially those from his kogi east not be deterred by the antics of APC saying the savage violence unleashed on our people and other members, of which they suffered various degrees of injuries, smacks of politics of bitterness and should be condemned by all well-meaning citizens.

“I’m yet to fathom what could have warranted these attacks but we should remember that humanity is one and it is high time we moved away from politics of violence and bitterness to politics of issues and development.

“Public office was conceived to unite and develop society and not attack, maim or kill people. I urge the security agencies to bring the culprits to book in order to deter other urchins and bloodthirsty politicians across the state who may be spoiling for war ahead of the 2023 governorship elections.

“I hereby call on our well-respected president, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Inspector General of police, senior citizens and leaders in Abuja to wade into this matter”.

In his reaction, the Director of Media and Publicity of APC Campaign Council, Evangelist Kingsley Femi Fanwo said that it is not out of place, that after exposing the murderous campaign of the SDP in our World Press Conference yesterday, they are expected to come out to defend themselves.

That they have chosen the wrong platform to do that shows the tactless, lackluster approach of the ill-prepared desperate politician.

” We reported to the Police and other security agencies. And we have reported to the world and given a graphic narrative of how the SDP thugs killed a member of our party”.

” Thankfully, the Police have released their preliminary reports and the SDP candidate should honour the invitation of security agencies to explain why his thugs killed the innocent Kotonkarfe woman and left the entire community mourning”.

While explaining the blood on his hands, he can as well give evidence of his recent claims to the Police and other law enforcement agencies.

He further said it is natural that killers get confused after killing because of the sacred nature of human life. We can understand Muritala Yakubu Ajaka’s confusion and delusion right now. But he must pay for his sins.

His macabre dance on the grave of an innocent woman won’t save him. He has murdered sleep and has a date with the rule of law.
” We won’t glorify him with any serious response”.

” Kogites now know him better and they know who is arming thugs and giving them uniforms,
After killing a soul with his political brigandage, that he could still heartlessly mock the dead with his lies is unfortunate”, our member won’t die in vain”, he stressed.
