Kogi Guber : Coalition of Kogi Transport Unions Back APC Gov’ship Candidate.

A coalition of transport owners and operators in Kogi state have declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Governorship candidate for the November Governorship election, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo.
The group which comprises of commercial road transporters, the taxi drivers, tricycle operators, motorcycle riders and the marine ships and boats transporters, were received in Lokoja, the state capital, by the Coordinator, ‘ Renewed Hope Campaign Organization for Ododo”, Engineer Simeon Balogun.
Led by Mallam Gimba Ibrahim, the State Chairman of the commercial motorcycle riders (Okada), the transporters in their hundreds who stormed the campaign office on Thursday, said the decision to declare their support for the APC Governorship candidate was informed by the need to consolidate and sustain on the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello after leaving office.
Receiving the group on Thursday, Engnr Balogun thanked them for their courage and support for the Candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, assuring that they will not regret taking the timely decision.
The coordinator explained that membership of the organisation is voluntary and rewards may not be instantly, but will come after hard work and victory.
He advised them to ensure that all their Permanent Voters Cards PVCs and that of their families are intact, as that is their major weapon for the November 11 governorship election.
While he admonishes the transporters to redouble their efforts to ensure victory for the ruling APC, however advised them to resist temptation of engaging in violence, despite provocations.
Balogun used the occasion to express gratitude to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his continuous grip on security matters, a situation that has earned him national accolades.
Also at the declaration,was the Director General of the Organisation, Mr Akerejola Abiodun, warned the new supporters to ignore the unnecessary calls for ethnic and sectional agenda ( Igala agenda) in the on going campaigns for the November 11 governorship election.
Abiodun urged them to stick tenaciously to the known “Kogi state” agenda for the overall development of the state, pointing out that any other thing now is counter productive and is capable of dragging the state backward .
