Kogi makes Another History As Ahmed Usman Ododo Is Sworn-In As The 5th Governor

Kogi State on Saturday made another history as its fifth democratically elected governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo along with his Deputy Governor, Salifu Joel Oyibo were Sworn-In.

The swearing-in took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja.

On January, 27  Saturday, Ahmed Usman Ododo was inaugurated amid pomp and ceremony by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Josiah Majebi who administered the oath of office and that of allegiance on him and his Deputy Governor.

The immediate past Governor handed over notes of Kogi State Government ministries, department and agencies (MDAs) to his successor, the new governor of kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo during the ceremony.

Speaking after his swearing-in, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked the Immediate past Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and equally extolled his leadership qualities.

Governor Ahmed Ododo also extends his heartfelt gratitude to late leader of All Progressive’s Congress, Prince Abubakar Audu and his family.

He appreciated the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the first lady, Mrs Remi Tinubu for their words of encouragement and support throughout the struggle for the realization of his  ambition.

The present Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo said he is “well aware” of the expectations from the people in the state and that he will be a servant to all.

The governor said his reforms will cut across education, security, healthcare, infrastructure, local government administration, judiciary, and public service, adding that his administration will be workers friendly.

“I am well aware of the fact that my responsibility as governor and chief security entails meeting the expectation of our people,” he said.

Gov  Ahmed Ododo further said his present administration has chosen unity over disunity and friendliness over hatred, ” I will encourage local and foreign investor to invest in kogi state. ” by bringing quality representation and development to the state”.

Those who attended the inauguration included the vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Kassim shettima, Minister of steel, Prince Shaibu Audu, former Governor of kogi state, Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada, national chairman; of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, former Governorship Candidate of ADC, Chief Leke Abejide, Chief Jide Omokore, chief Folashade Tinubu, the Iyaloja General of Lagos , as well as three Deputy Governors.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, contested the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressive’s Congress, APC), defeated his closest challenger, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka of Social Democratic party, in the last Governorship election.
