Kogi NLC Protest : Provide Enough Palliatives That Would Cushion The Effects Of Fuel Subsidy Removal – Comrade Gabriel Amari

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kogi state has embarked on the nationwide protest against fuel subsidy removal by the President Bola Tinubu Administration.
There was heavy mobilisation of workers and presence of security men at the Ganaja bridge in Lokoja as members of the Nigeria Labour Congress walked to Government House, known as ‘Lugard house’ to deliver the protest letter to the Governor.
The chairman of NLC in kogi state, Gabriel Amari, in a letter submitted to the Deputy Governor, David Onoja stated that they’ve decided to embark on the nationwide protest due to the increment in fuel prices and failure of President Bola Tinubu administration to reverse some of the policies which the NLC tagged “unfriendly” and “anti-poor.”
The labour union had advised the Federal Government to provide enough palliatives that would cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
However, members of the NLC were seen carrying placards with different inscriptions such as ‘End fuel price increase, Fix local refineries, stop naira devaluation’ etc.
The nationwide protest is to bring to notice to the hardship the citizens of Nigerians are passing through to the Nigerian Govement.
Businesses and activities are going smoothly like any other day in the state capital, Lokoja. Hot spots places like the Old Market, New Market, Murtala Muhammed way.
In his response, the Deputy Governor, Chief David Edward Onoja who received the protesters said he will ensure onward delivery of the letter to the Governor, adding that the governor would convey their message to the appropriate quarters.
