Kogi NUJ Chairman Caution Nigerians Against Deregotary, Divisive Utterances Capable Of Inciting Violence, Disunity

The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi state Council, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh, has urged the Federal Government to embark on aggressive sensitization and mobilisation of the citizens towards peace and national unity.
Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh gave the advice on Thursday when he received a delegation from National Orientation Agency (NOA) , in his office at the NUJ press centre Lokoja.
The Chairman noted that what the country need now is effective mobilisation of the citizens especially before, during and after the transition processes ushering in the new administration.
He warned Nigerians against deregotary and divisive utterances that are capable of inciting violence, disunity and confusion.
He therefore advised Politicians to consider Nigeria first before any other consideration saying without the nation nobody can be presented for any appointment or seek elective positions.
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, Kogi state office, Mrs Florence Yemisi Oloronnmisihola, represented by Mr. Patrick Edogbanya, said the delegation was at the NUJ in compliance with the directives of Director General, Garba Abari, to embark on peace building of the people.
The Director further said the agency’s mandate is to mobilise Nigerians for peace building so as to re-unite them especially after the keenly contested general elections.
“The agency has so far reached out to traditional rulers, religions leaders and followers as well as business and social groups in the bid to disseminate the message of peace building among Nigerians”.
The NOA boss therefore appealed to the media in the state to cooperate with the agency, he however commended all working Journalists in kogi state over the ethical and professional conducts in the discharge of their duties.
