Kogi PDP Unveils Dino Melaye As Guber Candidate, Promises To Attract Investors, All-Inclusive Growth

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has unveiled its governorship candidate
,Senator Dino Melaye towards the forthcoming November 11th election.

Melaye was presented to the public on Wednesday at Kefas Multi Purpose Hall, lokoja by the party stakeholders in the State.

Speaking during the ceremony, the PDP governorship flagbearer, Senator Dino Melaye appreciated the PDP leaders in Kogi State and pleaded for forgiveness from whoever he might have offended.

According to him, “whoever i mght have offended should please forgive me”, “Dino Melaye will not be a Christian or a Muslim Governor but a governor with the fear of God. If you have the fear of God, you won’t pay percentage salaries. If you have the fear of God, there will be peace and stability in the state”.

Sen. Dino Melaye also said that his administration will create jobs opportunities and all-inclusive growth, If elected.

He stated that his party, the PDP, has unveilled him as the official and substantive governorship candidate today.

He however promised to look inward to solve the unique challenges confronting kogi state’s socio-economic development.

Melaye also pledged that he will collaborate with the private sector and foreign partners in designing and implementing developmental projects that will keep Kogi state on track for sustained, inclusive and prosperity driven growth.

The Governorship candidate further said his economic policies will focused on the need to uplift the poor and the disadvantaged and encourage inclusivity.

‘‘Our party, the PDP, will go with the policies that will focus on delivering prosperity to all kogi people through enhancing security; eliminating corrupt practices in governance, supporting sectors that will create jobs; and promoting socially-focused interventions to support the poorest and most vulnerable among the people of the state.

In his opening speech, the State Chairman of the party, Engr. Samuel Uhuotu appealed to indigenes to vote for his party during the governorship election in the state.

He charged all aggrieved governorship aspirants to forgive the party and the candidate for any offence committed, and forge ahead to work towards attaining victory, he stressed.

A former lawmaker representing Kogi West, Tunde Ogbeha appealed to aggrieved party members to sheath their swords and work for the party’s victory.

Also speaking,the state leader of the PDP, former Kogi State Governor, Ibrahim Idris said he would never leave as a founding member, “i will forever remain a member of the PDP” he said.

“I am here to support whoever emerges as our party Candidate. Dino Melaye is a PDP member, why will I go and support another party? That will be the last thing I will do. We can do it, but we have to see ourselves as one family” he stated.
