Kogi PESMDAA Inaugurates Taskforce to Tackle Environmental Degradation

The Petroleum, Environment and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association (PESMDAA) has inaugurated a state task force to tackle Kogi state environmental degradation linked to petroleum and solid mineral extraction across the state.
At the Inauguration ceremony held at Idrinana Hotel, Lokoja, the Honourable Commissioner in charge of koi PESMDAA, Alhaji Yusuf Acheko expressed grave concern over the escalating environmental damage in solid mineral in kogi state, emphasised the association’s commitment to create awareness.
Alhaji Acheko stressed the importance of the newly inaugurated task force in promoting accountability and sustainable practices.
He stressed the need for widespread awareness and collaboration at the local level. He assured the task force would work closely with stakeholders to enforce accountability and involve affected communities in conservation efforts.
In his own remarks, the Director of Operations,Ahmadu Yakubu highlighted the importance of combating environmental degradation, saying the Inauguration of new Executive members of PESMDAA at the state and local govt will strengthen the association .
Both the new state Executive members and local government officials of National Awareness Task Force Officers of PESMDAA, were Inaugurated by Barr. Adejoh Isah.
Some of the security agencies present at the Inauguration ceremony are; Nigerian civil Defence corps, Nigeria Police Force, and Directorate of Security Services, DSSS.
