Kogi SDP Dissociates Self From Opposition Coalition, ADC

I Will Re-Contest An Elective Seat – Muritala Ajaka

The Social Democratic Party in Kogi state on Saturday, dissociated itself from the recent coalition of opposition party, African Democratic Congress, ADC.

This was made known by the Chairman of the SDP in Kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Attah after a wide consultation meeting held with the party chairmen in the twenty-one local Government Areas and notable stakeholders of the party, held at the SDP party secretariat in Lokoja, the kogi State capital.

He said the party is focusing on developing a strategy to dislodge the ruling, All Progressives Congress at all levels of governance in Kogi states come 2027 general elections.

According to him, “we arrived at this decision at a meeting attended by our National Leader, and Governorship candidate of SDP, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka, other prominent opposition leaders, including the former commissioners in Kogi state, Elder Ali Ajuh and Mr. David Enape, among others.

The Chairman emphatically said that the SDP in kogi state would not be part of any coalition adding that no decision could be made on the matter without directives from the National Working Committee and leaders of SDP.

In his own contribution, the Governorship candidate of SDP, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka assured stakeholders and members of the party that he would re-contest an elective position in the state.

He emphasized on the unity among members and stakeholders in the state, saying that SDP will not relent in struggling for power in 2027 in Kogi state .

“We therefore called on our people to intimate them that we’ll not be part of any coalition, nobody in SDP that joins the coalition”, he stressed.

In his words, ” I will re-contest an elective position in Kogi state, I therefore thanked all members of the party for their support, maintained that there is unity among the leaders and all the stakeholders, we always speak with one voice for the progress of the party”, he said.
