Kogi SDP gov’ship candidate VisitsOhinoyi Of Ebiraland, Seeks His Blessings

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in kogi State, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, has described traditional rulers as the closest to the grassroots while seeking their support and blessings ahead of the 2023 Governorship polls.
Ajaka, who was accompanied by his running mate, Chief Ranti Abenemi , and other SDP chieftains amidst a crowd of supporters, spoke when he visited the paramount ruler, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, Atta lll, in Okene Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
The SDP candidate, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, said, “We had a seamless and mutually respectful relationship with the elders and by the grace of God, if given another opportunity, we will continue to demonstrate respect for the traditional institution, we will continue to demonstrate respect to our elders and most especially, we will commit ourselves more than ever before to the service of the people.”
Ajaka added, “We are engaging critical consultations to all stakeholders across the state to ensure that we get prepared ahead of the electioneering campaign, and making sure that we sensitise people so that when the campaigns fully start in earnest, we will go in as a united people.”
Ohinoyi, who receive him to his Palace in Okene, thanked the SDP candidate for the visit, describing it as a sign of a good thing to come.
Expressing gratitude to the kogi people, particularly the SDP in the state for trusting their Ajaka with the ticket to lead the party for the 2023 governorship election, the monarch admonished Ajaka and his supporters to run an issue-based campaign, devoid of a campaign of calumny, bitterness, rancour and uncultured behaviour to attract more followers, who will vote the party to power.
“You have our blessings,” the monarch added.
The SDP candidate and his entourage later moved to the the graveyard where late Senator A. T Ahmed was buried and prayed for him.
Ajaka proceeded to a venue where he addressed a mammoth crowd at a reception after leaving the Jummaat Prayers which he observed in Okene central mosque.
He assured the people that every ethnic group would be given a sense of belonging if he win the 2023 governorship election while encouraging them to get their Permanent Voter Cards ready.
The deputy governorship candidate, Chief Ranti Abenemi applauded the youth in the central for coming out in their numbers to receive the SDP governorship candidate who he said had great consideration for them in the rebuilding of the state.
He said Ajaka is determined in providing quality leadership in kogi, if given the mandate.
