Kogi SEMA Pays Familiarization Visit To Kogi Commissioner Of Police, RUWASSA

The Executive Secretary SEMA, Alhaji Mouktar Atimah and management team has paid courtesy visit to commissioner of Police, Kogi state command, CP Onuoha B C.
The Executive Secretary said the purpose of his visit was on familarization and collaboration, hinted the Commissioner of Police and his team about the 2024 flood predictions released by NIMET.
He further explained that SEMA was identifying and collaborating with stakeholders in disaster management. In view of this, SEMA solicited for committed synergy and enhanced collaboration.
He added that SEMA would be holding meeting with top-notch stakeholders in disaster management and invitation would be sent soon.
The SEMA Boss used the opportunity to thank the Commissioner of Police and his team for their concerted efforts and quick response with other security agencies that led to rescue of abducted CUSTECH students. He added that the CP understood the security policy that our Security Conscious Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo was consolidating upon.
Responding, CP Onuoha B. C, appreciated the SEMA management for the visit. He eulogized the proactive steps that SEMA has taken to mitigate impending flood disaster. He advised SEMA to embrace holistic sensitization and enlightenment campaign using physical contact and mass media.
The activity of SEMA in any disaster management would be fully achieved with involvement of Police in securing lives and properties of affected victims that could be looted criminals. He asserted.
He thanked the SEMA management, pledged robust collaboration and promised to reciprocate the visit.
In the same vane, SEMA management equally visited to Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency and the team was received by General Manager of the Agency, Hon. Ahovi Ibrahim.
In his opening remarks, Alhaji Mouktar Atimah, named the General Manager, Hon Ahovi Ibrahim a political builder who has many admirers. He said: The primary aim of the visit was to explore ways of solidifying a long standing collaborative relationship between the two sister Agencies.
He hinted the General Manager and his team the predictions on 2024 flood occurrence released by NIMET. He further expressed the role play by RUWASSA in supplying hygienic water and enlightenment campaign on sanitation. He said, RUWASSA’s services were always required in any disaster, especially during pre-flood awareness on proper sanitation and post flood.
He stated that a notice of meeting would soon be rolled out and his Agency would be invited. He added that the engagement of stakeholders centered on proactive measures to reduce or avert effects of impending flood.
In his response, the General Manager, Hon Ahovi Ibrahim, called Alhaji Mouktar Atimah a dependable political ally and extolled his sterling qualities, stating that the Agency has noticed Alhaji Mouktar Atimah’s hard work and commitment towards realization of SEMA’s mandate.
He added that RUWASSA has key role to play in disaster management and every needed support, synergy and collaboration would be adequately made available. He thanked SEMA management for the visit.
