Kogi Speaker Empowers 120 Aged Women With 50,000 Each In Lokoja LG

As part of efforts to alleviate poverty and provide economic support to the aged and vulnerable women in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Yusuf, has empowered 120 women.

In a well attended empowerment programme organised by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Yusuf on Sunday in Lokoja, the chairman and secretary of Aliyu Yusuf Empowerment scheme, Abdulraman Abubakar Ya’ba and Abdulraman Yusuf Wali respectively, said the initiative is the continuation of Speaker’s various empowerment programmes, “It is his vision to support small businesses and boost financial inclusion in Lokoja community”.
The secretary of the committee, Wali noted that the initiative is part of our “commitment to economic growth and empowerment of our aged women, adding that the programme will continue in batches .
He further said 120 aged and vulnerable women are beneficiaries of 50,000(fifty thousand Naira). He reiterated that Rt. Hon. Aliyu Yusuf is determined to improve the living standards of people in Lokoja local government, noting that the empowerment initiative would create new avenues for financial growth and economic development in the community.
He implored the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds made available to them adding that there will be other editions of the programme.
Some of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Jummai Musa and Hussaina Hassan expressed gratitude for the initiative and commended Rt. Hon. Aliyu Yusuf for his continued efforts to uplift women in Lokoja local government through impactful projects, interventions and sustainable empowerment programmes, They all prayed that God should strengthened him to do more for the people in the community.
