Kogi Traditional Ruler Urges Nigerians to Patronize Made in Nigeria Products.

  • As 5th Built Environment Building Materials Exhibition holds in Kogi,
    The Chairman, Ajaokuta Traditional Council and Ohi of Eganyi , His Royal Highness, Alhaji Musa Achuja has appealed to Nigerians to always patronize products manufactured by the local industry to encourage industrial revolution and self reliance.

In his opening remarks at the ongoing 5th Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition holding at Idrinana Hotel and Suites, Lokoja, the Traditional ruler said the country’s economy can only grow if the products of the local industries compete favourably with the foreign ones .

The Monarch also urged local industries to manufacture quality products that can stand the test of international standard.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Profitability and Quality Advantages of Made in Nigeria Housing Development and Materials”and has attracted many manufacturers and industrialists within and around Kogi state.

The participants at the Lokoja BEBM Exhibition include Dangote Cement Plc, Royal Ceramic, National Association of Block Moulders of Nigeria, Kogi state Signage and Advertisement Agency, Milk and Honey Luxury Homes, Central Bank of Nigeria and the Labour Office, Lokoja, Silkcoat Paints among others.

Highlight of the opening ceremony include expository on advantages of the use of ceramic products of the West African Ceramics Limited, video presentation of production process and documentary on West African Ceramics tiles among other presentations.

Keynote addresses were presented by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, the National Orientation Agency and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

An award; Shelter Development Icons of the Decade was presented to deserving personalities for their contributions to the development of the Industry. In his welcome address, the Chief Convener of the BEBM Exhibitions, Hon Oladipo Makakese Bayode; the host of the event promised that the event would equip participants with modern building options capable of reducing cost of affordable housing.He called on the Government of Kogi state to initiate housing projects for artisans and trademen while contending that affordable housing is one of the trust of good livelihood and government must be committed to making it available if the society must be move towards social security.
