L-PRES Visits Lokoja Transition Chairman, Begins Distribution Of Forms To Poultry Farmers

The Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project today visited Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, the Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja Local Government in his office in Lokoja.
In a statement issued by the SA Media to the Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Illiyasu Zakari stated that the Team Lead of L-PRES, Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas, Mr Emmanuel Awuya Anakobe who was represented by the Animal Health Officer of Kogi L-PRES, Dr. Khalid Muhammad Bashir said that they were at the Local Government Secretariat to commence the distribution of application forms for Women and Youths Empowerment Support to already profiled Poultry farmers from 1st July – 8th July, 2024.
The Chairman commended the efforts of the World Bank, Federal Government and the Kogi State Government for the collaboration that has birthed the laudable Project. The Chairman specifically thanked the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the concerted effort in making Agricultural sector his priority to ensure food sufficiency in the State.
He appealed to the Kogi State Project Coordinator of LPRES, Dr. Olufemi Bolarin to ensure indigenous people from Lokoja Local Government Area benefited.
The LPRES is a 6 year Project with Development Objective that seeks to improve livestock sector management for increased productivity, food and nutrition security, income growth and social cohesion between farmers and herders.
