Land use charge Law is a crucial step towards enhancing revenue generation for Kogi, LGA’s — KGIRS Chairman

“Land Use Charge is not just a levy, but an investment in better infrastructure, improved public services and a greater future for all Kogi residents”,

This was the statement made by the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Inland Revenue Service, KGIRS, Alhaji Salihu Enehe on Wednesday at the occasion of unveiling the implementation of the Land Use Charge Law, 2024, held at the KGIRS head office, Lokoja.

According to him, “I am honoured to welcome you to this pivotal event, marking the implementation of land Use Charge, 2024 in Kogi State.

Alhaji Enehe said the ongoing tax reforms is aim to streamline revenue collection, promote transparency, and ensure that all stakeholders contribute their fair share towards the State’s development.

“Today marks a pivotal steps in strengthening our revenue based for infrastructure development. The Land Use Charge is not just a levy;it is an investment in better infrastructure, improved public services, and a greater future for all Kogi residents”.

He further stressed that the legislation is a crucial step towards enhancing revenue generation for local government areas, fostering data-driven decision-making, and paving the way for the development of smart cities and job creation in Kogi State.

He stated that the implementation of this law will yield numerous benefits for stakeholders and for the state at large, he therefore called on the stakeholders to join forces with the KGIRS to make this initiative a resounding success.

In his words, “A well-structured revenue system is the foundation of good governance. By embracing the Land Use Charge, you are helping to empower the government to deliver more impactful projects that will benefit businesses, communities, and future generations.”

“The successful implementation of this law will yield numerous benefits for our stakeholders and for the state at large even as I urge you all to joins forces with us to make this initiative a resounding success”,

“With the successful launch of the Land Use Charge Demand Notice today, we are reaffirming our commitment to accountability, transparency, and efficiency in revenue administration. Together, we will build a more prosperous Kogi State.
