Lokoja-Kogi Rep Member, Hon. Danladi Aguye flags off 2KM Road Construction project In Agbaja Town

It was a momentous occasion recently in Agbaja community in Lokoja Local government area of Kogi state as the Honourable Member of House of Representative, Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency, Suleiman Danladi Aguye officially flagged off a 2KM road constituency project in Agbaja, which marked a significant step toward addressing the community’s infrastructural needs.

The project was made possible by Hon. Aguye’s commitment to effective representation with the agenda of transforming the socio-economic landscape of the area.

The event brought together a diverse assembly of leaders, stakeholders, and community leaders, all united in celebrating this milestone.

These symbolic gestures were a heartfelt expression of gratitude for Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye for his efforts in securing the project to Agbaja community.

In his address, Hon. Aguye said he is fulfilling part of his electioneering promises made during his campaigns, and also reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more impactful projects that improve the lives of his constituents.

He particularly assured the people that more democratic projects are coming to the community and environs.

According to him, “Our former and imcumbent Govrrnors, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo started good work by awarding contract for the Construction of Agbaja roads, but im doing this in Agbaja town to compliment the governor’s efforts”, he said.

He urged the contractors to deliver the projects within the stipulated time and design specifications, and urged the host communities to support the initiative.

Hon. Aguye commended the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo and other key stakeholders for their immense contributions in the development of Agbaja, lokoja and kogi state, noting that the project will enhance connectivity, facilitate economic growth, and improve the quality of life for the people in the community.

“For this year 2025, other road projects have been earmaked in Budon, Kupa, koton-karfe and other areas in my federal constituecy, which would be executed”.

Hon. Aguye, said the government’s investments in rural road infrastructure and agro-logistics facilities clearly showed that the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododi is visionary, goal-oriented and passionate about the people’s well-being.

In his words, “This road construction is a manifestation of my dedication to pursuing projects that enhance the welfare as well as empowerment of our people”,

In his remark, the Maasi of Agbaja, His Royal Highness, Oba Abubakar Isa Alugbere praised Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye for his dedication and highlighted the potential of the road project to improve connectivity and foster economic growth in Agbajaland and its neighboring communities.

He however thanked the Rep member for earmarking the road to his palace as were to construct the road but pleaded that the road Construction should be moved to a more strategic area where everybody in the town would benefit from.

The council chairman of Lokoja local government area, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu commended the initiative of the member of House of Representative, saying that he has impacted positvely on the lives of the people in lokoja-Kogi federal constituency, he however thanked the Oba Maasi of Agbaja, Abubakar Isa Alugbere for the reception accorded them.

The Director General, Procurement, Kogi state government, Barr. Sunday Ehimoni stated that Hon. Aguye feel that the best way to give back to Agbaja community is through road project and many others, So, I want to appreciate most distinguished Rep member for being a man of his words. He is a man who walks his talks. When he was campaigning for the office, he promised transforming Agbaja community and that was one of the promises that he made and today the promise is being fulfilled.”

He however called on the people in Agbaja community to continue to support Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye and the government in Kogi state.

According to him,” the only way to benefit from the government of the day is by showing support and solidarity’.

He described the project as another laudable initiative of the Hon. Aguye that will go a long way to ease access to farm produce and contribute to the socio-economic development of Agbaja community.

Speaking at the palace of Oba of Agbaja, Barr. Ehimoni Donated 500,000 to the community for the renovation of the abandoned MDG Clinic in Agbaja.

Residents expressed their appreciation for the project, acknowledging its significance in addressing their long-standing infrastructural problems.

The Contractor in charge of the Road Project, Engineer, Suleiman Wara, assured the people in the community that his Construction company, ADB Construction Nig. Limited will construct standard road in Agbaja community, according to him, “even though, ADB will only handle 1km while other company will execute the 2nd contract of 1km but we will make sure the job is well executed”, he assured.

Attendees included Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, APC party Chairman, Hon. Maikudi Bature, Former Treasurer, Hon. Okoriko, Councillors from ward B and D in lokoja local government area and hosts of others.
