LOKOJA LG CHAIRMAN VISITS OGBABON, RESOLVE CRISIS WITHIN THREE RULING CLASS

The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has attended the sgning of peace pact that brings to an end the tension which threatened the peace of the community
In a statement issued by the SSA on Media and Publicity to Chairman of Lokoja local govt Area, Illiasu Zakari, stated that the Council Chairman had earlier, on the 18th February, 2025 suggested a community-based solution and promised to lead the process of a peaceful and amicable resolution including compensation for those whose properties were destroyed, he summoned all the parties involved.
He expressed his happiness that the three Ogbabon ruling class has finally resolved out of court in the interest of peace, progress and prosperity of the community.
Comrade Abdullahi also used the opportunity to reiterate government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens, he however warn that stringent measures would be taken against anybody found to be working as informants to bandits and criminals. The chairman donated a motorcycle and other materials to the Ogbabon vigilante group to support their operations.
He also assured the Community that their electricity transformer would be in repaired latest before the end of August.
The Obaro of Ogbabon, Chief Hussaini Adago Nmodu stated that Chairman has once again shown the love of the Ismaila family to the people of Ogbabon. While praying for the unity of the community, the Obaro prayed God to continue to guide the local government Chairman in the discharge of his duties.
The Community leaders expressed his gratitude to the Chairman for his role in bringing to an end a tussle that nearly tore the whole community apart. He noted that the active role chairman played will go down in history like his late father’s drainage project in Ogbabon when he served as the Oworo District Councillor.
In a document signed by the three clans and presented to the Chairman, the community unanimously accepts the legitimacy of Chief Hussain Adoga Nmodu as the Obaro of Ogbabon while the the Obadofin of Ogbabon would come from the Oke-Igbo clan.
Among others, the community also agreed to re-arranged rotation in the following order
(a) Oke -Igbo Clan
(b) Imawo Clan
(c) Odo-Ogbabon Clan
