Lokoja LGA Chairman Receives Comptroller-General, Kogi State Vigilante Service, Others

The Lokoja Local Government Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has received the Comptroller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), Commander Abdulrahman Mariam Adinoyi (Rtd) in his office.
According to the statement issued by
SSA on media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Zakari Illiyasu stated that the CG Adinoyi expressed his profound gratitude to the Lokoja Local Government Chairman for the support to the Kogi State Vigilante Service and the for taking the issue security seriously in his domain.
The Commander noted that the aim of the visit is in compliance with His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directive to deepen synergy with local authorities across the state to ensure safe communities.
He cited that since he assumed office, the KSVS has seen a significant improvement in their welfare. “Not only has His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo increased their salaries, KSVS officers have been gazetted into the Kogi State Civil Service. The Command has also gotten approval for a two new pairs of uniform kits for officers.” The CG singled out the Chairmen of Lokoja and Yagba West Local Government Areas for going the extra miles to curb security challenges in their various local governments.
In his response, the Council Chairman thanked the CG Adinoyi for his visit to the local government, the second, since his appointment as the Controller General within the short time. “This shows your commitment and dedication to collaborate with the local authorities.”
While also lamenting the shortage of KSVS personnel at the disposal of the Local Government, mostly because of their deployment to government MDAs, He appealed that priority should be given to Lokoja Local Government when next the Service is recruiting personnel especially considering the vast nature of Lokoja Local Government and prevailing security challenges especially in Lokoja 2.
“I want to use this medium to thank His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and of course, the Comptroller General for ensuring that the welfare and remuneration of the personnel is greatly improved upon.” This he said has no doubt motivated the officers. The Chairman also applauded Mohammed Zuberu, the Lokoja Local Government Commander and the men and women of the Command for their resilience and commitment whenever they are called to duty.
In the vote of thanks, the Secretary to Lokoja Local Government, Hon. Abubakar Danjuma Muhammed thanked the KSVS Commander for the visit and assured him of the local government’s continuous support.
Also in attendance were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Patricia Balogun, CoS Emmanuel Egamana as well as the representatives of Lokoja LG Commands of the DSS, NIS, NCS, Hunters Group and Man O War. Others include the DSO Lokoja LG, Mallam Shaba Bababudan and the SA on Security, Hon. Mohammed Yusuf Bala.
