Lokoja Transition Chairman Debunks market Traders Protest In Lokoja, Kogi state

The Transition Committee Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has debunked a news published by some online blogs that Market traders in Lokoja local government area came out to stage a mass protest against food hike.

The chairman, who address a press briefing in his office on Friday, described those behind the fake news as mischievous trying to incite the people against the government.

“It has come to the knowledge of the council that some online blogs have sought to destabilise the unity of the local government and citizens of the state by spreading malicious and false information that the market traders in Lokoja staged a mass protest over increments in food items”.

“It should be noted that the gathering that occurred that faithful day was market women groups who went to paid solidarity visit to the new Maigari of Lokoja, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir, who was recently coronated”.

” Lokoja local government has always reaffirmed its commitment and support to the present administration of His Excellencies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, National leaders who are ready to provide for the needs of citizens as such, it is conspicuous that those behind the false news are with ulterior motives to disturb the peace of the state”.

“The transition committee of Lokoja local government and its people wishes to reaffirm it’s unwavering loyalty, commitment and dedication to the Executive Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo”.

“We hereby urge the people of the area to disregard the falsehood and go about their normal businesses and daily activities and to uphold the excellence of our great State.”

He advised newsmen to always cross-check their facts before publications.
