Maigari Of Lokoja Confers Chieftaincy Title On Kogi Speaker, Others

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, Markafi 1V has conferred the chieftaincy title of BADAKOSHI on the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Yusuf Umar Aliyu and five other prominent citizens of Lokoja local government area.
In a yearly colourful ceremony, Lokoja Day held on Saturday at Maigari’s palace in Lokoja, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Kabir while speaking said the conferment of the chieftaincy titles are in recognition of humanitarian services rendered by this people across Lokoja local government, kogi state and beyond.
According to him, “The conferment of the title is a testament to their dedication and commitment to improving the lives of the community and beyond,” he said.
Responding to the conferment, the Honourable Speaker, Aliyu Umar Yusuf while speaking on behalf of the awardees, expressed gratitude to Maigari of lokoja for the honour done to them saying that they would continue to serve the people of Lokoja, and kogi state.
RT. Honourable Speaker turbanning witnessed the presence of seven speakers of various Houses of Assembly in the country coming to the confluence state, Lokoja and also led all the Members of the kogi State House of Assembly to the venue .
The legislators were at Maigari’s palace to solidarize with the RT Honourable Speaker for the conferment of the title on him by HRH, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Muhahammadu Kabir
Similarly, Alhaji Ibrahim Suleman Danladi who was also turbaned as Sonfada of Lokoja, thanked Maigari of Lokoja for the honour done to him and his family, said His Royal Highness has demonstrated true love, peaceful reign and continuous unity to the historical and ancient town, Lokoja.
The newly turbaned Sonfada of Lokoja, Alhaji Danladi appreciated the Maigari of Lokoja for honouring him with the exalted position.
The chieftaincy title of Santali of Lokoja was also given to Alhaji Bala Muhammad Haruna who has done so much for the growth and advancement of Lokoja local government area, while in service at NNPC.
Alhaji Bala thanked HRH, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir for his considerations and honour for recognizing him for such chieftancy title, assuring that he will be loyal and committed to the promotion of Lokoja traditional council especially in the area of peace and unity.
In his own remarks, the newly turbaned Sarkin Pawa(chief of Butchers), Mallam Ibrahim DanAsabe Idi appreciated the Royal Highness for considering him for the exalted position, saying that his late father once contested for tge position but did not succeed but God in his infinite mercy now used His Royal Highness to honour him today, he stressed.
He therefore promised to be very loyal and committed to the traditional council and the emirate saying he will ever be grateful to all the members of Butchers association, the people of Lokoja and his entire family for the unalloyed support given to him
