Malicious Publication Against Major Gen. Erema : Akerejola Family, Ogori Descendants’ Union Demands Retraction Within 14 Days Or Face Legal Action

Akerejola Family and Ogori Descendants’ Union (ODU) have condemned reports maligning their son, Major General Erema Akerejola which smears his .character and hard-earned reputation.
A legal luminary, Hon. Barr. Ndakwo Abdulraman Tanko, Santali Of Koton-karfe who addressed newsmen on behalf of the group on Friday in Lokoja, said the false publication by a media platform “People’s Gazette” was an attempt to maligned and assassinate the character of Major General Erema Akerejola hard earned reputation.
The said publication alleges that Major General Erema Akerejola’s family accuses him of looting soldiers’ budget to run private firms, buy million -dollar US property “.
Barr. Tanko dismisses the reports as dangerous narratives in which the family name was maligned saying that the publication is grossly inresponsible.
He noted that the publication is an orchestrated attempt to assassinate character of Major General Akerejola through lies dressed as journalism, “People’s Gazette” has allow its organisation to be used for debased journalism, saying it’s highly unfortunate and regrettable”.
According to him, “Major General Erema Akerejola’s has never shield away from service, and has commanded troops in volatile regions, the military officer has also assisted underprivileged students in Ogori to attained their educational pursuit, why are they now seeking to malign his reputation”, he asked .
He said: “It is unfortunate that this media organisation made him a target of a malicious smear campaign.” it is assemblage of lies, concocted narratives, lumped together to malign the man for no genuine reasons”.
“ It is nonetheless saddening that they have chosen to besmirch a successful Ogori son who is celebrated all over the world for his achievements, who from a humble background relied on hard work and ingenuity, sought education and climbed the academic ladder with distinction”.
“Today, he is a successful military officer whose credibility and achievements are subjects of global admiration. He has built an unblemished career that inspired millions across the globe and earned him national and international honors, his life is a blueprint in patriotism and comparison, How dare anyone attempt to soil that legacy with unsubstantiated claims?
“It is without a doubt that Major General Erema Akerejola has built a name that is over and above petty blackmail .
Barr. Tanko further said the family is not asking for favours, they are asking for fairness , let no one mistake silence for guilt, Or restraint for weakness, but today we begin the process of justice, not just in defense of a man but in defense of truth, reputation, and of the dignity that every Nigeria deserves “.
“We wish to state equivocally that as family and indigenes of Ogori, we will not sit idle and watch while some enemies fling baseless accusations at our son, Major General Erema Akerejola. Not only does his success serve as an example to us on what can be achieved with hard work and purpose, but his interventions have also brought growth and development to thousands of youth in Ogori land.”
“Therefore, with civility and full legal weight, cease and desist, retract or sued. Apologize or be held accountable. We the family demands retraction within 14 days, failure to do so, the family will be left with no option than to take appropriate legal action”.
