· Says Gov. Ododo a model for colleagues

The Secretary of market women leader in kogi state, Hajia Khadija Ahmad Ogirima has applauded Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his consistent promotion of Gender Equality and Women Empowerment in the state.

While speaking to Nigerian Trend Online newspaper in Lokoja, the secretary said “As an ambassador for women advancement and a worthy Champion, the governor’s passion for gender balance and equity in recent appointment of female appointments, special Advisers and other sensitive positions were highly appreciable.

According to her, “Kogi women immensely appreciate Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for further justifying the confidence reposed in him, “I write on behalf of women traders to once again commend and appreciate your Excellency for demonstrating yet another feat on promotion of Gender Equality and Women Empowerment and for making Kogi State a model for other states to emulate. Nigerian women are indeed proud of you and your kind gestures.”

She also commended the immediate past Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for being the first governor to promote gender Equality and women empowerment by the appointment done bringing more women into his cabinet, described Ex-Gov. Bello and the incumbent Governor Ahmed Ododo as gender-friendly personalities.

The Special Adviser, women Affairs ,Hajia Gimba Momo had also used the medium to thank Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo for breaking the yoke of poor representation of women and youths in governance.

According to her, “This bold and significant decision sets Kogi State apart, as a role model for other states in Nigeria, in upholding regional and globally agreed standards to promote the full and equal participation of women in all political and decision making processes,”
