New Kogi Commissioner Of Police visits NUJ Executive members

The newly posted Commissioner of Police (CP) to Kogi State Police Command, Mr Miller Gajere Dantawaye on Wednesday in Lokoja, the State Capital, paid a courtesy visit to Executive members of the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

In his brief and impressive speech, the Commissioner of Police seeks a harmonious relationship with the State Council of the NUJ, describing them as critical stakeholders in curtailing all forms of criminality across the state.

He used the visit to warn criminals to stay clear of Kogi State, pointing out that the command is more ready than before to give them their noses anywhere they are in the state.

CP Dantawaye urged the men of the fourth estate of the realm to feel free to come forward to him for any assistance that may be needed, if the cases are bailable.

While welcoming the Police Commissioner, the NUJ Chairman, Alhaji Sheidu Ademu expressed gratitude for the CP’s decision to visit his members, saying that the Kogi State NUJ and the State Police Command have been having a cordial working relationship.

Ademu assured the CP of the State NUJ of continuous synergy and harmonious working relationships, which he hopes will create a conducive atmosphere between the police and the gentlemen of the press in the conduct of their daily assignments.

The PPRO, kogi state police command DCP Ovye Williams Aya shed more light on the on the previous activities of the new commissioner of police.

The Vice president, Zone D, NUJ, Comrade Adeiza MomohJimoh also commended the new CP for his visit to the executive members, saying that he is first or second CP to visit Kogi state NUJ.
