President Tinubu’s Coming To Flag-Off APC Campaign In Kogi ; Not A Threat To SDP – Chairman, Campaign Council, Lokoja-Kogi
By Abubakar S.H
The Chairman, Campaign Council, Lokoja-Kogi of the Social Democratic party, SDP, kogi state, Hon. Danladi Bababudon has said the coming of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Flag-Off the campaign of All Progressive’s Congress cannot be a threat to SDP.
In an interview with Nigerian Trend online Newspaper, Hon. Babudon noted that the candidate of SDP, Murtala Ajaka was a former member of National Working committee and Deputy Publicity of the ruling party, of which he used his resources to ensure the victory of the president.
He therefore said president Tinubu that he knows will provide a levelling playing ground to ensure a credible, fair and transparent governorship election in kogi state.
When asked wether the chances of Murtala Ajaka defecting from APC to SDP will be hampered by lack of political structure across the state compared to the APC Governorship candidate, he described Ajaka as a crowd puller saying he has invested on the people while in APC and many people he assisted formed the majority of his supporters in the SDP today.
According to him, the 2023 governorship election is going to be a contest between our party, SDP and other political parties and I am assuring you that we shall defeat the ruling party, APC with a very wide margin.
“We’re not losing sleep over beating APC, Ahmed Ododo, because that has been done and dusted, as far as this election is concerned,” he said.
The Chairman further said that the contest is a two-man race, describing it as a “straight contest between SDP and other parties – that’s the reality”, he noted.
“Some insinuating that APC may win the coming election but I want to confidently say, Murtala Ajaka of SDP will defeat the ruling party with a very wide margin, “Yes, APC is the ruling party, but it is an impossibility for Ahmed Ododo to win this election because of the ways the masses are suffering in the state”.
“ The APC administration in kogi state has caused a lot of havoc and hardship for the people in the state”, he stressed.
