Process For Emergence Of New Traditional Ruler, Maigari Of Lokoja Has Commence
* Ministry of Local Govt. And Chieftaincy Affairs Screen Applicants.
* Govt. Committee Invites Lokoja Traditional Kingmakers

The process for emergence of the new Maigari of Lokoja, in the state headquarters of Kogi State has started since last week monday, following the demise of the His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir, markarfi 111.
The meeting which lasted for hours on Tuesday was held at the main hall of Kogi state ministry of local government and chieftancy Affairs, Lokoja, under the chairmanship of the Hon. commissioner of the ministry, Hon. Deedat Ozigi.
The interested parties for the stool of Maigari stool had been screened and the traditional kingmakers were also invited by the ministry of local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, kogi state to discuss on how the new Maigari of Lokoja will be appointed.
The traditional kingmakers confirmed that the ministry invited them for an urgent meeting to discuss a way forward on the installation of the new Maigari of Lokoja.
The kingmakers present are ; Khalifa Ibrahim Kenchi, Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban, Waziri of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris Baba’ango, Maiyaki of Lokoja Alhaji Ali Lawal , Alhaji Ahmed Musa, Sarkin Zango.
