Ramadan : Adhere to Islamic teachings -Imam charges Muslims in Lokoja

Muslim faithfuls have been admonished to adhere strictly to all the teaching and messages delivered by Islamic scholars during the Ramadan period.
The Chief Imam of Ibnu Mas’ud Juma’a mosque, Sarkin Noma,Lokoja , Kogi state, Imam Tahir Husain made the call Monday while addressing Muslim faithfuls at Late Maiunguwan Nasidi Mosque,Lokoja, during the closing of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.
Imam Tahir said Islam is a very peaceful and unique religion that teaches every believer to be truthful and sincere in all their endeavours.
“First we must all give thanks to Allah for giving us the strength to observe this year’s fasting successfully. We have learned a lot, this is a period of rejuvenation, a period to reflection on your actions and activities as Muslims, this is a period of sacrifice.
“The Muslim religion teaches every believers to be truthful, honest, and sincere in everything. Ramadan is a period to share whatever you have with one another. We have come here to witnessed the closing of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir presided over by Ustaf Muhammad Aliyu Nayashi,may Allah accept our acts of ibadat, forgive us our shortcomings.
The cleric said Prophet Muhammad(SAW) taught love, kindness and compassion to his people and was seen to be the most loving, and compassionate of all of them.
Tahir said the Holy Qur’an mentioned the kind and gentle behaviour of Prophet Muhammad, adding, ”there were many instances that showed his kindness and gentleness, especially to the weak and the poor.
He appealed to the youths on the need to seek knowledge, especially through attending Islamic schools and madarasats.
He tasked Muslims on generosity, adding that generosity was another hallmark of the personality of Prophet Muhammad ( saw) especially during the month of Ramadan.
In his remarks , Hakimi of ward D, Malam Isah Nasidi,who spoke on behalf of late Maiunguwan Nasidi family, thanked Allah for granting us the opportunity to witnessed the end of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.
He commended the mosque committee for diligent and dedication to the cause of Allah and prayed to Allah to reward them and all those that contributed to the success of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir and presentation of foodstuffs and textile materials to the orphans and widows.
