Governor Bello’s magic touch on roads rehabilitation and construction does not discriminate against federal, state or local government roads. That is the case of several other roads spread across the three senatorial districts of the Confluence State.

A Chinese adage says development comes with good transport system e.g roads, while others have described road networks as an essential artery for the development of every nation. Kogi State, as a commercial state needs roads above all else, so as to transport commodities to the markets.

Governor Yahaya Bello’s led administration over the years has constructed roads across the three senatorial zones, to make Kogi State one among other states with ease of doing business.

The state governor through the Kogi State Directorate of Rural Development, a bureau saddled with the responsibility of  enhancing the rural areas in terms of adding value to the livelihoods of the rural populace by boosting the socio- economic activities of these communities.

Kogi State Directorate for Rural Development takes over the maintenance of rural feeder roads including rural water supply and electrification, identifying and selecting rural roads to be constructed and upgraded.

Before the coming of the democratically elected governor, the state capital, Lokoja communities lacked good roads, making life unbearable for motorists who are passing Lokoja to South,East, North,West and other part of the country.

Gov. Bello has taken anxious measures embarked on the massive construction of Roads accross the three senatorial districts of the state, especially in the township roads in the state capital, Lokoja.

Available records have shown that the Kogi state Government is guided by the principle of adherence to equitable sharing of rural roads across communities in the state, apart from opening up of rural communities for socio-economic activities to thrive, good roads are accessible in terms of emergency.

Gov. Bello did not relent in his determination to make the state capital, a mega city that will compete with her peers.

The administration of Gov. Bello also succeeded in building of Referral Hospital in Okene, Ganaja flyover bridge, GYB model schools in the three senatorial districts and a modern Civic centre, Muhammadu Buhari Centre.

The roads in the State capital, Lokoja constructed by the incumbent administration in the state, includes one of the best road network and asphalt overlaying, which is the Lokoja local Government Secretariat road, old- market road to New market road, JB road to Government House, and many others too numerous to mention.

These projects are some of the uncommon commitment exhibited by the democratically elected governor of the state. The construction of more roads in the state will open up the state as well boost the socio-economic activities of the ‘ Confluence State’. The governor did not relent in boosting the economy of the state by opening up more roads.
