Youth Governance Group Honours Kogi Lawmaker, Hon. Obaro with Excellence Award

The Advocacy for Youth Leadership in Governance, Nigeria, on Wednesday conferred an Award of Excellence on Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, member representing Yagba East Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The award, was presented at a press briefing ceremony in Lokoja, recognises Obaro’s contributions to effective lawmaking, youth empowerment, and grassroots development in Yagba East and Kogi State at large.
According to the organisers, the honour was bestowed on Obaro for his “proficiency in management leadership, resourcefulness, competence, and outstanding performance as one of the best performing state legislators in Kogi State.”
The body described the lawmaker as an “experienced and savvy grassroots politician, renowned philanthropist of international repute, and a dynamic legislator whose works continue to inspire youths across the country.”
He was also commended for his advocacy for internal democracy, massive youth employment initiatives, and promotion of peaceful coexistence among communities in Yagba and beyond.
Obaro, who could not be physically present at the event, was represented by Hon. Sunday Paul. In his remarks, Paul conveyed Obaro’s appreciation to the organisers for the recognition, noting that the award would further encourage the lawmaker to deepen his commitment to service delivery.
He added that the legislator remains focused on promoting quality representation, strengthening youth development programmes, and advancing policies that enhance harmonious living in the constituency.
