Anxiety As Kogi Awaits Appeal Court Verdict On Governorship Election Today

There is palpable anxiety among party stakeholders and supporters ahead of the Appeal Court judgment expected to be delivered this today, Thursday on the petition challenging the rulings of the first tribunal on the governorship election in Kogi state.

After the November 2023, governorship elections in the state, the aggrieved candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP went to court challenging the declaration of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo as winner of the exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The governorship election cases began from state tribunal before they eventually moved to Appeal court . We however, expected the final judgment from the Appeal court today.
